Studded Elisalex
I promised you all my own partyhardy dress in honor of Sew It Up (and because I got a bit bored with all the other party dresses in my wardrobe after heaving them in heavy rotation for the last 5 years)
This dress was made using the same fabric as my beloved jacket I made November last year. I absolutely love working with this fabric since it's easy to cut, easy to press and easy to sew.
Since this dress performed brilliantly through both Christmas day and New Year's day (food filled days, in my family) I consider it a winner. I also like the shorter lenght on the skirt.
I plan on wearing this dress on an everyday basis and while teaching so I think this make is a huge win in my closet.
And before you ask: it was 3°C outside when I took these pictures. The things I do for this blog...
Any succesful makes on your end lately?

Details
- Pattern: By Hand London - Elisalex
- Size: 12/16 front bodice, 10/14 bodice back, 12/16 skirt
- fabric: Pauli
- lining: Pauli, leftover from my stash. (and it's red!)
- metal zipper: stash

Flat Pattern Adjustments
- lowered the neckline on the front bodice with 2 cm;
- graded from a 12/16 bust to a 10/14 waist on the front bodice
- Shortened the skirt by 21cm before construction
- put in pockets (Colette Hazel)
Adjustments after first fitting
- shortened the skirt another 3.5 cm, made a 2.5 cm hem
- took in the bodice from the armhole to the apex with 2.5 cm at the armhole
- this fabric stretched more than I expected so I had to take out another 8 cm out of the waistline by making deeper pleats on the skirt & taking in the seams on the bodice so they would still match
