A new slip dress: the story behind the garment
Today I added a new item to the store, a delicate slip dress, in honor of upcoming Valentines day and I wanted to share the story of this garment with you!
As you all know, I got married in August last year. And while my main focus when it came to what-to-wear was on my wedding dress, made by my friends, I wanted to make a little something something myself for the occasion
This design came to be the week before I got married. As I was thinking about the wedding day, I also thought about what I would wear after the festivities, you know, for the wedding night.
I wanted to create something that would make me feel beautiful (or at least more beautiful than my very old pajamas)
I bought this beautiful burned rayon velvet jersey at a fabric store visit with my friend Stéphanie and I knew it would become something lingerie-like. When I was going through my stash that week before the wedding, I knew this was the fabric I would be using!
I wanted something that would skim my body, without exposing everything at once. I wanted something that made the fabric shine. I wanted something that would have clean lines and was comfortable yet - dare I say it - slightly sexy. So what's what I came up with.
This slip has soft, lined cups, a flat, lined midriff and a figure skimming skirt. The delicate straps are adjustable with rings and sliders.
I felt beautiful, the husband was a fan (still asking when I will wear it again, well, not in winter! )
I hope you'll feel as beautiful as I did in this piece!
