kids make portraits in my textile class
As some of you may know I'm a teacher too. One of my classes is a textile class for kids (age 6 - 12), where I teach them all kinds of sewing techniques, felting, embroidery, weaving, knitting, crocheting and generally expressing themselves throught textile art!
Last week we had a 'portrait assignment' where they made portraits using a collage technique. I really liked the results and thought it would be fun to share them with you all. I love most art that kids make since it's so honest, vulnerable and open. These portraits are interesting to me since the kids really expanded their view beyond their regular portraits. I love the fact that they made their work go beyond the standard frame of a piece of cardboard or fabric and applaud them for their creativity! Now, let's have a look!
Thanks for reading and letting me show the kids' hard work!
