Stock Treasures: Vintage Seventies Coat

From the moment people hear I studied costume design, there are two possible scenarios: 1) they look at me as if I'm crazy and ask: Is that a real field of study? 2) they start gifting me all the fabric/notions/vintage treasures hiding out in their basement/attic. Due to option number two I collected a couple beautiful pieces. I thought it would be fun to share them with you! First up is a coat that belonged my grandmother (my mother's mother). She rocked this in the seventies. I'm still trying to find some pictures of here wearing it, but apparently the seventies weren't that well documented on the countryside! My grandmother is 80 now and still kicking serious ass. From here on, I'm letting the coat do the talking. I love this coat so much. It's on permanent display in my sewing studio and I pet the collar on a regular basis. Who needs pets when you have a coat like this? ;-)
