FESA 2013
The Fall Essential Sew Along hosted by Sarah of Rhinestones and Telephones (FESA) began on September 22nd, so I am a little late to the ideas-party.
(Due to some wisdom-teeth removing surgery. Yes, that's hamstertime for me!)
So, here are the projects I hope to complete during this year's FESA.
Category: Fashionable foundations for frosty weather
I found this fabric at B is for bird's homesale. It has a denim quality to it, but is still very souple. It also has a gorgeous shine to it. The best thing about this fabric is the price: €5 for 2.60 meters. Bargain!
I want to transform it into Colette's newest baby: Zinnia. I have a simmilar skirt I bought at WE a couple years ago. I love wearing that skirt during summer, so hopefully this will be my winter go-to piece!
Category: Underneath it all
This is by far my favorite category. I have this pile of cute jerseys, some of them are tops from my closet and I'd like to make myself a couple cute undies. I plan on a floral Amerson (designed by Maddie from Madalynne)and a couple jersey OhhhLulu Ginger high waisted bottoms. High waisted undies are my absolute favorite. Especially during the winter when I easily get backaches from the cold. An extra layer keeps my lower back warm!
Category: Baby, It's cold outside
Also at B is for bird's homesale I found this gorgeous boiled wool. It's a fantastic deep blue colour. Since it was love at first sight, I decided that this would be my new winter coat.
I saw this pattern in a Burda magazine and afterwards on Paunnet's blog. Needless to say I will ommit the weird grey furry flaps. I love the hood on this coat, but will add some extra beltloops! I am still thinking weather I want buttons or a zipper. I think I prefere a zipper, since buttons are so annoying when you are in a hurry and need to put your coat on...
Are you sewing along with FESA this year? What are you making?
