(source) I love this interview with Dries Van Noten by Garance Doré . It's so beautiful and intimate and gives great insight to his thought processes. On the exhibition
The aim of this exhibition is to not only show the work by Dries Van Noten himself, but also his inspiration and the way his collections are made. I love this intention and the way the exhibition is set up, since it gives you a lot of insight into the ideas and mind of a designer. You'll find works of Yves Klein and Cristobal Balenciaga side by side, combined with silhouettes from different Dries Van Noten collections. If you love seeing clothes moving, this teaser video on the exhibition is a must see! I always love having a closer look at designer clothes to get inspired and to get to know a bit how they are made. The following short video by WWD's series 'Closer than the Front Row' gives beautiful insight to Dries Van Noten's Spring 2015 RTW collection and how it was made. I'll stop talking now and simply show you some of my favorite Dries Van Noten looks & collections (not necessarily shown in the exhibition)If you can't find me the next days, I'm browsing style.com and plotting some Dries Van Noten inspired sewing!
Please let me know if you plan on visiting the exhibition or have visited it and what your thoughts are! Do you ever get inspired by fashion collections to sew something for yourself?
